Kulbuto

Kulbuto, created by Emile Sacré, a 23-year-old student from Toulouse, France, is a nod to the toy Culbuto swinging, and gives a form of rhythmic sequence increasing or decreasing.

“This project looks at how we can create a non-uniform composition with repetitive and cyclical. The formal outcome of Kulbuto based on the principles of changing rates, determined by graphic collisions at speeds more or less important. We are facing environment created by tensions, where some variations unstable rhythmic cycles are synchronized and de-synchronized in time. It appears a composition “wobbly” which varies across different types of sequencing. In a way, we can say that this device is the opposite of the principle of arpeggiator, controller and tool rack of a rhythmic point of view.
The visual premium in terms of understanding the instrument, by itself and the resulting sound is generated. Indeed, it is a relationship between frontal view and listen to this system is trying to highlight.
