Post-it Note Diaries by Arthur Jones

An inspiration to all those creatives weathering Corporate America to survive…

Post-It Note Diaries, a newly released graphic novel edited and illustrated by brooklyn based Arthur Jones (RISD ’97 IL).  This tw0-color printed gem made The New York Times’ seal of approval in its 2011 Gift Guide.

[As Arthur explains in this rewarding litt’l video, he discovered the true beauty of Post-it Notes while gasping for breath in a creatively stifling office. By doodling and drawing his way through the day, he kept some semblance of sanity, observing that, “If art can’t make your life more bearable, then I don’t know what good it is.”

The drawings led to a reading series centered around Post-its stories – and then to a nationwide bit on NPR’s This American Life, followed by the book.

Subtitled 20 Stories of Youthful Abandon, Embarrassing Mishaps, and Everyday Adventure, each one – from “A-list contributors” such as Andrew Bird, John Hodgman, Starlee Kine, Chuck Klosterman, David Rakoff, Kristen Schaal – satisfyingly unfolds in words and pictures created on good ol’ Post-it Notes.]
